The year...1982. The place...Bloomington, Indiana.
A pizza monopoly had its grips on this quaint midwestern town,
jeopardizing the very core of our free market economic principles
and our freedom to choose a better pizza. Something simply had
to be done to ensure our wholesome midwestern quality of life and
the American way!
From the barren ground of tyranny sprouted rebellion....
One wide-eyed, idealistic, and very hungry IU business student
took up the cause, and Pizza Express was born of a desire to
create a better pizza, a better business, and the best breadstix
for miles around. The ultimate goal was to offer Bloomington a
choice--and a better one at that.
Now, over 20 years and 4 million pizzas later, Pizza X
is still rebelling against the tyranny of the big, bad chains,
still committed to the community around us and still having
fun while making awesome pizza.
